Internet question

From: Donna L

I have a Mac and somewhere in the deep
recesses of time I set my internet
connection to shut down if there had been
no activity for 10 min. This is now driving
me nuts and I can't find where to extend
the time limit. Can anyone help????

Hi Donna,

Have you tried speaking to your ISP's helpdesk?

Hi Donna and dear fellow Mac user

If you're using OS X, go:
System Prefs --> Network --> PPP --> PPP
Options
You'll find the necessary button in there.

If you're using OS 9, look in the PPP Setup in the
Control Panels (I haven't used 9 for some time so
the memory's a bit hazy).

Good luck.

Des

Hi Donna,

u can do the following:

Open the Apple menu and scroll down to the control panels menu.

From the control panel menu select the Remote Access option.

The Remote Access window will open, in this window select the Options button.

There should be 3 tabs (Redialing, Connection and Protocol) select the Connection tab.

The bottom tick box is "Disconnect if Idle for 10 Minutes" uncheck it should be OK.

Cheers,

MannyB.
