For future reference its a simple matter to cover your *** if low value goods are left behind.
Take a bunch of photos and email them with details to Department of Commerce. Full details on the DOCEP website.
You'll get back an indemnity certificate giving you permission to dispose of the goods legally. I had my agent countersign/witness a list of goods onsite as well.
