Yeah, I thought we were having a bad smog day.... but the control camera evetually came on. THe zoom function is quite good - looking at some people fishin on the river mouth - be pretty funny if you were sitting there scratching your crotch unaware your image is being cast all over the world....

Sorry to take it OT to property, but if one had a near-coastal IP (without views from the house), would it help its value if marketed as 'bay views possible from tower-mounted webcam'?

Buyers could even check out the webcam before buying. The agent could offer a free plasma screen wired to the webcam to view in-house as a negotiating chip. This could just about fit over an old fireplace, though the old 4:3 aspect ratio is better than widescreen unless propped up by books.

Of course this needn't be restricted to coastal views. Who will be the first estate agent to build webcams into their signs, so prospective buyers can dial in at midnight to watch the local hoons do burn-outs outside, see how quiet the street is or check out the neighbours?

Nah, just buy a house that the web cam can see, and then you have potential to monitor the house to see how tenants are doing.....or more precisely what they are doing to the house...BB is watching....
