I purchased this property in Bairnsdale Vic in July 2014 and have spent the last 6 months renovating it part-time.

Purchase price $135k
Current market val $195k
Rental val $250pw.
Out of pocket expenses $30k.

The original plan was to do a quick tidy up, 8 weeks tops and $10-12K.
Thanks to some dodgy mid '70's reno work this turned into a complete strip out of the living/kitchen/dining areas. If I wasn't a chippie I'd have been in over my head at this point!

Only trades used were; Asbestos removal, Electrician, plasterer, floor sander (sand only to save time). The rest I took on myself.

Did you travel all the way over to Vic to do it yourself??

Looks great but look like a lot of work.
