NAB increase fixed rates

The NAB are increasing their fixed rates as of monday 11/08/03
by 0.10% eg 3 years fixed 5.85% to 5.95%. Is this is a the opportunity for decreasing the interest rates has passed?

Hmmm.

Hard to see is the future, always in motion......

I think the general feeling in the stockmarket atm is that there will be some short term volatility in prices and interest rates while the market works out which way its going.

So the answer is maybe! : )

PS I've decided to lock at the 3 year rate with NAB atm as 5.85 is pretty good and on those figures I've built a 3 year plan.

Hmmm
Hard it is to tell if the first line is from a jedhi

or the answer is from a politician.:D

Just read today from a property report that expectations are for same rates till the end of 2005, due to rising $ and slowing economy. Wow that time went fast.
BTW. USA just had a small increase in rates due to the fact their forecasters got it wrong  and their economy is rolling out faster than predicted.

familiarise yourselves with the recently released RBA Quarterly Statement on Monetary Policy (which came out today and is the subject of another thread).

Has the opportunity for decreasing interest rates passed?

At this stage it appears as though it may have.

However, the one constant in economics is change (so even this situation may change)
