Just received a call from a lady saying she was a representative of the "National Homeowners Program" which was a govt scheme (that I couldn't find anything online about) and wanted to get "general" details about me to see if I qualify.
Things like how much equity, income, cc limits etc, and apparently qualify for some sort of rebate etc etc blah blah. I pushed her pretty hard about why she was calling me, what their purpose was, how it seemed unfair it was only being offered to high income earners etc, and she rambled something about Keating Administration, people losing lots in the GFC and we work hard for our money and only 7% qualified.
I was VERY dubious so asked if it would be something I would be able to apply for down the track without their help and she said yup, so I politely told her I wasn't interested. Only reason I actually stayed on the phone as long as I did is because I'm at home after major surgery, so I get a little bored
Anyone else come across this? Seems a bit odd to me.
