Has anyone heard of this Govt initiative under the stimulous package. Evidently the govt guarantees the rent for 10 years. I wonder if you would get absolute ferals in, or just unfortunates who would be glad of a home. With the tales you hear of some people trashing the place you would have to be wary.

No not going to get involved. Doesn't fit into what we are doing. The scheme gives you more tax deductions or more stuff to claim as tax deductions, so if you don't pay much tax to start with then you really don't get any benefit from this scheme.
It was advertised as "receive $80,000" but it's like max $8000 per year over 10 years, as reduced tax.
If it was $80k CASH, that would be different.
