New Building Depreciation

With a newly constructed building, how do you establish your depreciation schedule?

Does your accountant enter in your actual cost and work out the effective life of assets?

With older buildings we've always organised a depreciation schedule but what happens with a newly constructed building?

The builder obviously gives us nothing
 
The total cost of the building is the starting point. You would know that. Then you need to arrive at installed values for the Assets. You can do that. Otherwise a QS can do it. Your accountant will be reluctant.
