New place for Girls to talk Reno

I don't see the problem with boys only or girls only social clubs. To me it would be like going to a pony club on a quad bike. The pony club people would want pony riders, a quad bike would spoil their ride.

Men and women socialise completely differently and sometimes need to have time with their own sex. I would hate it if I was going to a girly night out and my hubby insisted on coming along, not because I don't like his company but because when I am with girlfriends we talk differently when we are alone compared to when man are with us. men do the same. I can just about guarantee you that when there are no women around, men are revolting! But that is the way they are hard wired (read some Alan and Barbara Pease).

I can admit that I prefer the ladies only room at my gym (not because I need therapy!) but because men pumping weights are sweaty and smelly;) and I also don't have to wait so long for each bit of equipment.:D and if you are using equipment that positions you in an unladylike pose some loser isn't going to go "phoar! check it out"

For reno or investing talk I prefer unisex, change rooms I prefer single sex.

I don't have any problem with that. But I would have a problem if you expected the law/police to enforce your preference by barring your husband from entering. That's the big difference. :)

I don't have a problem with anybody's preference for social companion; I only have a problem if they argue that it's a "right" that they're entitled to have protected.

I'm not the PC type that would try and force girls and boys to play with each other, or play with toys that are stereotypically of the opposite gender (if that's not their preference). It's not about insisting that men and women are the same, because they're clearly not, or forcing them to mix when they don't want to.

What irritates me is people wanting their preference to exclude a certain group protected by law.
