Hello Simon,
I have noticed from a posting on the forum you are part of a freestylers in
Newcastle. I am from Sydney however have been searching for properties in
Newcastle mainly since the market in Sydney presently has been fairly tough
to break into. I had chosen Newcastle as I had lived there for a year a few
years back. I am currently in a negotiation process with a property in
Dudley and would like to gain your opinions of the market in this area. I
have heard (once again having spoken to agents) that this area which is
close to the water is one of the better suburbs in newcastle along with
areas like redhead. Due to a new LEP setout from the lake macq. council
this area will be listed as a heritage precitent. I understand in areas
such as sydney it may be a good thing as council is concerned about
preserving + maintaining good image of the area. However I am unsure
whether it will be a positive in Newcastle as I am only limited in my
knowledge of the area via contacts with agents, our newcastle solicitor etc.
I am recieving conflicting views. We are wanting to renovate the property
however advised from a valuer over the phone not to captialise as Dudley
has peaked and likely to devalue. The property we are interested has
distant views to the beach/water.
Your views would be highly appreciated.
