Newcastle - Choice between two houses

Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster and am hoping for some advice.

I'm looking at buying in inner city Newcastle and am down to 2 properties. Both 2 bedroom houses;

The first is on 300m2, nicer inside than the first one and in a quiet street.

The second is on 500m2, older inside and on a very busy rd, 2 lanes each way.

Just wondering if the main road will detract from the value too much in the future if I look to sell it has a large scope to extend if needed, maybe add a room or two due to the larger land size. The first house is 30K dearer (about 500K).

Not sure if I should buy the one that has more future development potential but on a busy rd or get the one in a quiet st but on a smaller block as it may be easier to sell/rent.

Interested in your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

It's on my no list .. Busy rd . Don't buy .

Much harder to sell .

Only time to look at that sort of thing would be a major rd where you can build high rise, but then you need to know you market very well.

Agree with the others.

Future buyers will be having the same reservations that you're having now - which will impact on future growth.

Cheers
