No more abbreviations

From: Steve B

As I am still learning the I.P. business, I'm having a great deal of trouble working out everybody's abbreviations, EG,
O.P.T., L.M.I., P.P.R., L.O.C., P.P.O.R., L.M.A.O., F.M.V., ETC, ETC, ETC.
I hope I'm not the only one having trouble deciphering the above.
However, the more I read the more I'm learning, I already know of D.S.R.(DEBT SERVICE RATIO), L.V.R.(LOAN TO VALUE RATIO)
give me time I'm sure I'll get there.
Steve B.

Perhaps there could be a glossary of IP terms and abbreviations, perhaps in AM (aka Apprentice Millionaire).

Michael Croft

p.s. (aka post script) I would like to add LOMBARD to the list = lots of money but a real dickhead. I know quite a few of these -even been called one myself ;-)

Sorry - couldn't resist ...

If you really needed to know,

TLA = three letter acronyms (or twoLA's)

FLA = guess !!

PITA = Pain in the Anterior ;^)

Steve

IMHO whether you posted for IO or as a matter of P & I I think you have made a valid point. LOL

Sometimes I wonder if we are all speaking the same language.

According to my understanding here are some oft used abbreviations and their meanings.

OTP "Off the Planet"
B&H "Brisbane and Horsham"
IMHO "In my husband's opinion"
DIY "Do it yesterday"
LOL "Lots of loot"
DSR "Dead stinking rat"
LVR "Live vicious rat"
EARWIG "Effective asset reduction with idiot guarantor"

ACHU bless you

...I'd like to add an abbreviation to watch out for that most tradesman use when quoting. It's the PAFOOMA method of quoting.

PAFOOMA = Pull A Figure Out Of My Ar**

P&I - pissed and indecent
OTP - on top please
DSR - damn stupid ruling
CBA - can't bloody add
IP - in prison

Dale

Best of luck.

I think they even have internet access to this forum IP so no worries.

The pub crawl is in Sydney, isn't it?

Yup! It sure is and I'm booked on a flight to go. Who wouldn't???? It is not often that I get to go on an official binge AND claim the cost as a tax deduction!!!

I believe there is still room . . . .

Ok Steve I'm willing to help you out with the following:

OPM: Other People's Money
LMI: Lenders Mortgage Insurance
PPR: Principal Place of Residence
PPOR: See above
LMAO: NO idea!
FMV: Have come across this one but can't remember what the hell it stands for....

Don't forget that not all of us on this forum know what they all stand for anyway. AS you can see, we like to have fun making up our own meanings! Happy investing!
Cheers, Jacque :)

Thanks everyone, I didn't think it would have such a response, but looking at some of the answers, I'm sure it made a lot of people laugh, including myself. you are all a great
bunch of people. And thanks for a serious side of it too Jacque.
Thanks again
Steve
