NSW Energy Rebate

Hi, just thought I would put it out there for NSW residents as time is running out to claim. The cut off date is 14th June.

The NSW Government’s Family Energy Rebate helps NSW family households to pay their electricity bills.
In 2012-2013 the Family Energy Rebate gives eligible households a $75 credit on their electricity bill.

If you live in a caravan or mobile home park, the 2012-2013 Family Energy Rebate is $82.50. More details.

Am I Eligible for the Family Energy Rebate?

To be eligible for the 2012-2013 Family Energy Rebate, you must:

· Be eligible for the Federal Government’s Family Tax Benefit A or B at any time during the 2011-2012 financial year, and have received a relevant payment; and

· Be a NSW resident; and

· Have your name listed on electricity bills from an electricity retailer, solely or jointly or be a resident of a caravan or mobile home park and receive electricity bills from a park operator.

How much is the Family Energy Rebate?

If you are eligible to receive an annual Family Energy Rebate, you will receive the following support during these financial years:

2012-2013

2013-2014

2014-2015

$75

$125

$150

Your rebate will appear as a credit on your electricity bill once, for each financial year.

When the credit appears on your electricity bill will depend on the billing cycle of your electricity retailer, after your application for the Family Energy Rebate has been approved.

Eligible households which do not apply by the government's deadline of June 14 will miss out on their 2012 rebate. If the current number of applicants remained unchanged, NSW residents would miss out on $40 million worth of rebates.
