NSW Unemployment rates by region

This was posted deep in a thread somewhere - I lost it and I thought it deserved its own thread.

NSW Unemployment by region. Riverina and Orana fair very well indeed. Shoalhaven not quite as well, but interestingly still better than many parts of Sydney.

Anyway, thoughts???

Jeez, the Hunter and Central Coast aren't looking too good. I'm assuming this is unemployed by definition (i.e. actually actively looking for work)?

Well its sourced from ABS so I am going to assume its the same definition as all the other ABS employment data

I was actually thinking about the same thing.. and also don't know where Port stephens stands?

I actually think it looks pretty good. Central West in particular seems to be doing OK. 6-8% is still low and the dollar is dropping. More work for your average Jo.

Port Stephens is part of Hunter I think.

I can vouch for it being challenging to find work in Newcastle. Depends on the industry of course but it's not great.
