Old Gas Heater.

Hey all,

Has anybody had experience removing gas heaters like the one below?

Will need to be disconneted by Gas Plumber.

Im curious are these flush mounted & do they have an existing fireplace behind them? If you look from the outside of the house there is a chimney on the roof above this current installation, so there must be some sort of fireplace.

This is currently the "Lounge Area" but I am converting it into a bedroom.

Also I am installing ducted heating in the house so there is no need for it.
Its also an eye-sore and on its last legs.

So...... Options?

1. Remove the heater ? Whats behind? An old fireplace?
2. Remove heater and than render over bricks?
3. Remove heater and bricks?

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Wirra :)

If you remove the fire place then you may need to demolish the chimney as well. If you leave the chimney in place then you will need to cap off the chimney to stop rain.
