Overseas qualified lawyers

Has anyone here come into Australia with a foreign law degree and gone through the process of gaining accreditation and employment in Australia?

Just looking for someone we can chat to for advice and tips as to the process.

My sister in law came across from the UK.

Law Society normally has pretty good info on that.

Just was hoping to speak to someone who had successfully jumped the hurdles.

There used to be an Admissions Board here in Qld down at the court but the society has taken it over.

I'm not sure if it is easier to be admitted in any particular state or territory but once you are in at one you can be recognized in the other state. So if your friend wants to work in NSW but it is easier to be admitted say in ACT, you get admitted in ACT and do the shuffle so you are recognized in NSW.
