Here's a kitchen cabinet I rescued and restored a couple of years ago. Scraped all the dark old shellac off and just used furniture polish to finish it off.
Scott, would paint stripper be better than sanding? ? Is it best to get it right back rather than sanding?
its going to be painted now, all white with infill stencils or wallpaper
It all depends upon the effect that you want. Paint stripper is going to get you back to raw timber, sanding will but is a lot harder to get into tight corners and to remove all of the paint without damaging the veneer on the infill panels.
Mobs like Balmain Stripping will dunk the unit in a caustic bath and have it back to you with both your robe and wallet stripped
