Perth Olive Trees

I have a self-seeded olive tree that was as big as my pointer-finger 14 years ago. It's now just above the gutter line of the house. After seeing how big the olive trees are around Tranby House, I'm wondering if they can be easily kept at the size it is now. Are the roots invasive? I haven't found any info suggesting they are, so I'm assuming they are not.

watching the commercial olive grove over the road - they seem to prune them out by at least a 1/3rd every year around this time.
