PM for short term/airbnb style letting

I have an apartment in inner city Brisbane - one bed with view of the city etc. I would like to use it as a short term rental so I can keep my options open with it for a little while. Airbnb would be an option but does anyone know any agencies that specialise in this kind of thing in the West End area?

Any experiences doing the same would be really interesting too. Cheers and thanks for a great forum.

I would suggest you could consider executive style letting if your property is up to scratch? If I was in the situation of being in Canberra and the property in Brisbane, that is. I think for Airbnb the personal factor of the host can make all the difference - guests dont really want to be dealing with an agent.

does your council allow that? there is quite a backlash against this style of letting now

The Airbnb house near our waterfront home in Perth is causing us incredible grief.

Its not just the noise, its the foul language from the short term tenants, not to mention the marijuana smoke.....

We paid a premium to live here, we dont deserve this!

Agreed. This is an important part. On AirBnB guests expect more than a place to stay, many of them want a little tour guide and friendly welcome as well.

why would that sort of property attract marijuana smokers? That's more of a kids and losers drug

You get all sort with AirBnB. This week's troublemakers turned out to be a bunch of US Navy officers who were on R and R here, together with 4000 other servicemen. Nice enough people. Just loud, noisy and prone to uttering profanities like "mfkr" every few minutes when doped up or drunk. Fine if its a pub or someplace else. Just not in our backyard.

oh when does that aircraft carrier leave? tomorrow I think?

anyways just complain to council, they aren't allowed to do it inmost suburbs. A few suburbs will allow it if you buy a permit
