Posting Guidelines

Here are some basic guidelines for posting in the "Property Investment - General" forum.

We have implemented new features to try and spread some of the topics into specialised areas, hopefully making it easier for people to find and work with topics of interest.

You should spend some time getting to know what topics and guidelines are in place for all of the forums - especially the new ones.

This forum is the general property investment forum. It is okay to post most things property related here - especially if you are not sure where else to post. Moderators will move your post to the correct forum if there is a better place for it to be. Please don't be put out by this, it is something we will do to try and help everyone.

Specific guidelines for this forum are...

- we want this forum to be mostly traditional property investing type questions. Our definition of "traditional" is basically the style that Jan Somers describes in her books .

- if it is NOT property or investment related, then don't post it here. General chitchat should be in the new "Coffee Lounge".

- wraps, lease options, and other forms of vendor finance belong in the "Innovative Techniques" forum.

- there are separate forums for finance and for accounting and taxation, and another for value adding (renovations and such).

The descriptions below the forum names on the main page and the "posting guidelines" in each forum (not all of them are there yet) should help guide you as to where to post.

Don't sweat if you can't work it out, there will be a learning period where mistakes will be made, forgiven and corrected... that is why we have a team of moderators here to help keep things running smoothly. If all else fails, post here in this forum, and we will move the thread to a more suitable home.

Don't forget the "Help and Feedback" forum... you can post requests for help there, and there are (will be) frequently asked questions answered on many topics.

It really belongs in the "Where to Buy" forum - but that's okay... Ruby moved it for you :D

Big Job Well Done

Hi Sim

As you know i am certainly not your young computer buff.

(Believe in delegate & off load stuff that is too hard)

But congratulations on the set up of this new site. (Oh well new from when I was here last)

Starting to get the feel of it.

Gee Cee

P.S. Is it time to store my old slide rule from college days away with the 1960's newspapers?

Yup, I'd say it is definitely time to retire the slide-rule.

Sorry to tell you, but I'm just about to upgrade the forum again ! :D

Actually, it will look mostly the same as the current one with a few more features tacked on.

Yeah I can geoffw, but it's not a trivial thing to do - I have to do some programming to make it happen (the members I did way back at the beginning of the new forum were done in bulk with a specially written program).

I'll see what I can do.

I suspect that as with most systems, you may need to deregister (delete old ID) and reregister with a new ID.

Cheers,

Why does a thread about Funds not become a big ticket item in the Property General but A thread about "Cash is King" and the "state of the economy " "Financial Planning questions" not get downgraded to the appropriate sections.

I realize Fund s are dear to some, and Also Sea Change who pulls some attention gets listened to. But I am not ready to have a coffee yet.

CHISEL:confused:
