Postponement of changes to Swimming Pool Disclosure Requirements NSW

Important info for property owners with pools. The provisions that require a property with a swimming pool to have a certificate of compliance before it can be sold or leased will now commence n 29 April 2015 (twelvemonths later than previously indicated).

This means that pool owners will have more time to ensure swimming pool barrier compliance prior to the sale or lease of their property. It is expected that councils will now use this additional time to establish and implement swimming pool inspection programs and to promote awareness of the requirements that will now commence on 29 April 2015.

When this takes effect presumably the owners corporation or strata manager will obtain a pool compliance certificate every 3 years and hold it on behalf of the lot owners and make a copy available when and if required.
