Power line damaged by tree

Just had a call to say a power line has been damaged by a tree at a property I own.

No idea of the extent of damage.

Ausgrid are attending they tell me. But no further info.

Has anyone any experience with these folks? Will they just fix it and move on or will they bill me?

Cheers

Update.

It is a tree 1/3 on my property and 2/3 on the neighbours. Big gum tree.

So the branch was on their side of the tree and extending across their front yard.

That branch came down and damaged the power into their house. Not the street line itself.

I think it might be an issue for their insurance.

If the incident occurred on your side of the fence, then it's your insurance (if necessary) ...

Also depends whether the power line was from a "private pole" on your property to the house or just strung from the main pole in the street ... ring Ausgrid and question them.

This seems about right to me :)
