pre approval then shoulder dislocation

Hi last weekend i was teaching my kids to body board at the beach and dislocated my shoulder .

I could be laid up between 6 weeks to x months depending ( specialist still on holidays appointment next week).

Fortunately i have 20 weeks sick leave and about 3 months long service if required. (Goverment job)

My question is the bank will ask for payslips before settlement.
Will they baulk at settling a ppor loan (sydney)if im on sick leave?
Thanks

No unless your preappeoval expired prior to full approval

Doubt you will have a problem settling. A dislocated shoulder is a tempory disability, and with sufficient leave in place for recovery, you should be right.

Have you had surgery or will require? 6 weeks+ laid up in a Government job? Unless you are the Propellor Winder for the Prime Minister's private plane, I think you will be back at work on lighter duties well before 6 weeks.

Peep ends

If the pays are like 2to 4 weeks old then they can rely on same while going to formal approval now.

Otherwise trouble

If you haven't exchnaged contracts get your formal approval ASAP.

if your outlook is good then sick leave shouldn't be an issue on your pays that's what it's there for

I can't see it being an issue.

If they do require another payslip - and you're being paid sick leave, it should be fine.

Sorry to hear BTW - must be excruciating. I broke and dislocated my finger the other day....it's bloody annoying!

Cheers

Hi pinkboy , from memory your a serious cyclist , from what im reading they get plenty of dislocated shoulders.Have you had this injury ?

Sure does hurt , especially waiting at beach for an ambulance with top of arm bone about an inch separated from socket.
The awesome lifegaurds(elloura beach) gave morphine , what a myth no relief , enlightenment nothing.

Not sure if i need surgery probably not because first time( not after numerous dislocations).

I'm no doctor do take with a grain of salt. Yes, i have dislocated my shoulder and agree, there is a good little pinch of pain associated with them! :D I have a good little (at least 1") lump on my shoulder where my Scapula 'should' be in comparison to my Clavicle.

Dependant on your actual dislocation will be the answer for requiring surgery, however either way it will not render you useless for anything further than 6 weeks. You just have to be smart about your recovery and ease into movement. Oh, and get the kidlets to was your hair!

It will be sore, but dependant on your work, you will be at least be able to do light duties or restricted tasks for your job within a couple of weeks.

Ice, Physio, Acupuncture, self massage will be your friends over the coming months.

Hi Rolf & Jamie
Before this happened we were looking to buy a property pre auction. As you know in nsw no finance clause or cooling off and 5 or 10% deposit required to cancel auction.

Seems from what your saying it should be ok.
Btw jamie that finger ( with hundreds of nerve endings) sounds painful .

You've got a pre-approval in place at this point with a lender that (to the best of my knowledge) doesn't ask for further payslips or perform employment checks within the pre-approval period.

Additionally, you'll be returning to the same employment once you recover and you've got plenty of entitlements to cover income for the period whilst you're away from work. There's unlikely to be any issues even if the lender does follow up.

If the pre-approval expires and you need to resubmit documentation it will get a little tricky as you don't have payslips, but this can be mitigated with employment letters and doctors certificates. It's not a show stopper either.

In the meantime, do your best to make a full recovery. Shoulder injuries can come back to haunt you when you get older (my Dad retired and scheduled re-constructive surgery a fortnight later).

Popped my left shoulder twice now, last was late 2011. Was back at work (office job) within 2 weeks but no surgery! See how it goes, might be worse being your first time.

re the pain, yes - does not get any better! I had the green whistle thing in the ambulance and they had to stop on the way to put IV in of morphine. Very bloody painful!

Do you have any income protection insurance? That can cover you if your sick leave entitlements run out.
