Prefab Construction Materials

Hi There.

I have been watching a lot of Grand Design lately and it seems a lot of buildings in Europe are made of prefab walls etc. We are considering renovating our house and we think this maybe a good way to go .. one would think it will cut down on building time etc. Some of these prefab panels seem to be well constructed. What is the general consensus on this type of construction? These panels seem to be made from all corners of the world. Does anyone know of a reputable supplier for prefab panels and does this type of construction save on costs on renovation? Anyone have first hand experience with quality prefab panels?

I think the general consensus is that it's no cheaper than a conventional brick/blockwork home, and the thermal properties are nowhere near as good.

You could give Procast a call - they are the main suppliers for precast concrete in Brisbane and could probably give a quote for a residential structure.
