Thanks Chilliblue. I agree with you that higher returns usually means higher risks.
What I wanted to highlight from my previous post was that we did go into this with open eyes, understanding the tradeoffs. our rougher IPs have been serving their purpose well, which are to enable us to hold our metro lower yield higher growth metro IPs. so far we have been quite lucky meeting good PMs and hardly have any issue (touch wood) even with the rougher places. there are occasional incidents like this, but I guess that's life - and we just have to solve it when it happens.
My main learning from this particular incident is to never take business decision based on purely personal relationship, not only that it'd lead to a wrong decision business-wise also the loss of the relationship itself. Hard lesson to learn indeed.
