Hi Guys,

Two questions in one day maybe I'm pushing my luck.

I haven't seen any posts on the pros and cons of investing in Property Funds verses direct purchase. Has anyone had any long term success with residential property funds - or are you all die hard direct investors who want to maintain control?

I'd appreciate any thoughts on the topic.
cheers
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

After reading your post, I'd have to put my hand up and admit, Yes I am a control freak.
I also firmly believe that no one else cares about my money as much as I do.

regards

Jakk

Caroline,
Nothing wrong with the funds, they are perfectly normal.

Only catch is -
If you made $100 out of property your self, you keep it all.
If fund makes $100 - they have to pay all management fees as well as all other expenses.

Tax paid in both cases. But in your case it can offset against your salary and you will get tax deductions. In the other case it is treated as business – different kind ball game.

You would be lucky if you will get anything out of it.
I think.

Serge.
