# Psychometric test - HELP !!!!

OK - so have been asked to sit one of these tests for new job.

I received a test to get a feel for things and there is 1 question that honestly has thrown me off.

If you are keen and up to the challenge ... take a look at attached and then try to answer below.

How many Mail Order transactions were made during the year?

A - 7,200
B - 72,000
C- 720,000
D- 7,200,000

I would say online - mail order - and telephone ... 4,716 ... as all these orders would need to be mailed out

But no combination of anything I work out equates to one of the answers above

you're right it should be 1,500,000,000 units divided by 2100

obviously overenthusiasm - got carried away with my success in the sample naplan questions in the paper last week

1mill is 1,000,000
1512mill is 1,512,000,000

--> 1,512,000,000 / 2100
= 720,000

E. 3.5 bill

the average transaction size(units per transaction) is calculated from total sales(units) and total transactions (transactions)
units a known / transactions b = (units / transaction) c known

a / b = c : solve for b
multiply both sides by b
a = c * b:
divide both sides by c
a / c = b
transactions = units / (units / transaction)
= 1,512,000,000 / 2,100

I think most people just worked backwards to retro fit an answer

There is enough information, and I'm another vote for C, 720,000.

Average number of units per transaction = total number of units / total number of transactions

2,100 = 1,512,000,000 / total number of transactions

Rearranging

Total number of transactions = 1,512,000,000 / 2,100 = 720,000

It's a good thing property investing is easier than share trading.
If you misplace the decimal point a few places you could destroy an entire empire in the equities markets.
