"Quantity Surveyor,Old House"

From: Terry O

Hi,
Is it worth getting a quantity surveyor to do a depreciation schedule for an old house. About 1920 built. kitchen is about 5 years old, front porch added on maybe 10 years ago.Is it WORTH it!Looked through the archives,no match to this specific question.

Terry
You would be surprised what a QS will come up with, even for an old house. If the value of its contents haven't been depreciated by the previous owner, a QS takes into account their value today. This applies to fittings etc like carpets lights hot water service. Not to a building of that age

Michael Y.,what do you mean by your last line "not on a house that old".Do you mean it isn't possible or not worth it.
