Quantity surveyor

I am new to the forum and was just wondering if anyone can recommend a good quantity surveyor to do reports on the Gold Coast for properties that I have on the beachside that were built in the 50's-70's.

I have done my own rennovations on a few of the properties - some quite extensive due to them being delapidated due to the age.

Is is still worth having a QS consuct a report on older houses?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Bundy,

From my recent experience, I think the answer is, 'yes, it is worthwhile doing a QS on an older house'.

I bought a house built in the '70s which had some renovations done maybe 5 years ago or more by the preceding owner.

I followed the advice of others on the board , bit the bullet, handed over $440 to DEPpro and hoped for my money back.

Well, they did better than that. The depreciation amounted to approx $26,000 and that ain't bad.

If there as been any kind of renovation on the property in recent years, then it's probably a good idea to do a QS report.

The bottom line, if in doubt, let the QS judge how much is depreciable :)

Does anyone have a contact name or phone number for a good Quantity Surveyor for the Gold Coast area?
Are some better than others?
Do you get what you pay for?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards
BUNDY:)
