A few quotes which I like.

'A formal education will make you a living,
self education will make you a fortune.'
Jim Rohn

'The man who doesn't make up his mind to cultivate the habit of thinking misses the greatest pleasure in life. He not only misses the greatest pleasure but cannot make the most of himself. All progress, all success, begins with a thought'
Thomas Alva Edison

'First organise the near at hand,
then organise the far removed.
First organise the inner, then
organise the outer. First
organise the basic, then
organise the derivative.
First organise the strong,
then organise the weak.
First organise the great,
then organise the small.
First organise yourself,
then organise others.'

Zhuge Liang
(2nd Century AD)

There are two hitch-hikers who confront a hungry lion on a road.
They look at each other in fear; and one of them proceeds to change his heavy boots and puts on some running shoes.
The other hitch-hiker shakes his head in disbelief and says that even with running shoes it would be impossible to outrun a lion.
His companion replies, 'I know that, but I only have to outrun you!'.

....Often the extra 5% of preparation will put you in front.

For one person who dreams of making fifty thousand pounds, a hundred people dream of being left fifty thousand pounds.
