Rate reductions after the May 5 rate cut

Combank is quick off the mark to pass on part of the RBA rate reduction

Today, Commonwealth Bank announced that it would be decreasing the interest rate on its variable rate home loans as follows:

Standard Variable Rate home loans reduced by 20 basis points to 5.45%

Viridian Lines of Credit, No Fee Variable Rate and Base Variable Rate home loans reduced by 20 basis points

The CBA move comes after ANZ earlier said it would lower its standard variable home loan rate by 0.25 percentage points to 5.38 per cent, effective this Friday.

Late on Tuesday ME Bank also announced it would pass on the RBA cut in full, dropping its standard home loan variable interest rate to 4.88 per cent
