rental places and stoves

Hello,
I have a rental house and I would like to know if a gas upright stove/oven is more robust than a electric upright stove oven. Its just that my chef electric upright stove always causes problems i.e thermostats and elements not working. This is the second upright chef electric stove that has caused me problems and it is only 2 years old. Then I have to get a elecrician to look at it and then that costs $200-$300. I just thought that a gas stove not much can go wrong.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've had the same probs. I reckon the gas stove has less problems.

I've had instances where the tenant's kids have tampered with my electric stove and damaged (they quickly became ex tenants). Liquids overflowing can also damage the elements - goota always tell the tenants not to do it.

Thermos and elements, yeah they're costly when the you get a sparky to come out and fix 'em. But look , I know it's not right, but they are easy fixes. Thermos are about $50 and elements are about $80 from a place near Granville NSW. Oh, you can do a "short" electrical course somewhere, I'm sure.
