Repair or replacement? for depreciation/write off

dual flush toilet cisterns. i want to install in some of my houses..
how are they treated for tax purposes?

some of my houses have a co-owner.. some are singly owned.

If they are not broken and you are just replacing to save water - then it is a replacement and can only be depreciated over time not written off in one hit.

Depending on the costs (under $300 I think?) you could use the low value pool.

Check to see if your local authority, council /water ect has a rebate to replace them.
Some councils do, I think the central coast does, must look into that.
