Replacing main door frame-Gladstone, QLD

Hi Everyone,

I have a quote to replace the front door frame for my IP in Gladstone QLD, as it has deteriated. I have been told that the frame is a supporting frame to the house and it would take two days for the job with a cost of $2K. Just wondering if this is too expensive and would take two days to do it. Any one knows a handy man or carpenter who you can recommend?

A door jamb does not support anything it is an infill. The timber studs either side of the jamb support the building. So unless the studs have failed I would be asking more questions.

Not sure if they operate that far north but maybe try Doors R Us or some similar door specialist. You might try stegbar etc.
