Restumping old cottage-how much?

Hi there,
I'm posting 1 million questions on here as we are about to make an offer on a property in QLD.

Just wondering if anyone has had an old house re-stumped and how much we are looking at?

It is only a small cottage but the current stumps have been there for around 60 years and look rather un-stable?

We will need a professional evaluation but any of your experiences will be much appreciated!

I'm in Qld so allow for that. We were replacing some broken peers, not all - approx 12 - ?$5500 from memory. Very labour intensive.
As we were going to demolish in the future, we elected to get some steel peers made up (on the advice of a builder friend) and supplement what was there. There had been no drop - well not enough to affect doors, windows, etc. So we just put in additional ones. Very messy but about $1500 max.
Must have been ok as when we sold it, it never even came up in the building report.
You can jack up beams sitting on top of the peers to level it - just put sheets of cement board on top & use a top quality level.

Never done this but, jack up the bearer, near the effected pier to take the load off, set a laser level on the underside of the bearer, and record the height, as the weight is off the old pier, remove it, dig new footing next to the old cut off pier, bolt the new pier to the old bearer, and let it hang freely in the new footing /hole. check the level/height is as recorded, and concrete the new post in position, let this go off, ie 4 hours, and apply the weight back on by removing the jack, good luck,
