Ripping Tradespeople Off

I litigated against some clients in the past, back then, we had no merchant facilities so we had to go through the court to recover. Now we have the signed agreement with the credit card authority built in. So if it comes up we just debit the credit card and send them a receipt.

i feel your pain.

you get into trouble, try to do the right thing regardless, and get shafted in the process.

this is the reason im now full time in a similar field. cant keep a business afloat if no one pays.

Contact your association ie Master Builder Victoria/HIA/Sparkies collective/basketweavers etc (oh you're not a member). ;)

Speak to their legal department (or do your own research regarding the security of payments legislation in Victoria) - Google it. There is a dispute resolution process to be followed, plenty of information, flowcharts etc about.

This is an IP so you are covered by the legislation.

Half of the problems can be resolved quite easily.
