Rural land

From: Simon and Julie M

Hi all

A family member is considering buying some rural land (40 ac) in NSW outside ACT. The ad states NBP (no building permit). Does anyone know what this means? Is it easy to get a permit to build and if so what's the cost?

Thanks
Julie

Hi Julie,

No building permit means just that. Sounds like Yarrolumla Council and they have certain designated areas that require a minimum size allotment before you can get a building permit- zoned rural 1a. They need to talk to council but most likely they will have to wait until council changes the rules - which will be sometime between now and never.

Thanks Guru. I knew you'd know but I'd thought I'd post it as an item of interest.
