Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sales data web sites, where if you type in the house number, the street and suburb it will give you past sales data for that dwelling. in Queensland we have "Confirm" which is run by the government department called Citec. So I was looking for something like Citec but cheaper.

Thanks

Greg,

I believe that State Revenue Department in each state can provide you with that information in hard copy...at a cost. However, it would be interesting to know if you could buy a CD with all sales data going back to when records were first kept.

Hi,

In Perth the Valuer General's Office (VGO) charges $5 (or maybe $8)and you can get the sales history for a particular property. $20 get's you a list of the last I think it was 43 sales for a suburb.

Hi everyone,

BLIN MAP

An excellent tool that I use is called a BLIN map. Basically you pay your
$50 to the Department of Natural Resources in Qld and you get an AO map (16
x A4 - on one huge map) and on this map you get a 2km by 2km area (if your
use the right scale).... with the your choice of 16 viarables. (I normally
use LOT, RP, Sale Price, Sale Date, Land Area.)

You get an enormous amount of info for the area your want and when i give it
to clients their mouths normally hit the floor. (Great stuff.)

How secret are the queries ? i.e. if I wanted to find out how much my ex wife paid for her new house, could I do so without her ever finding out ? i.e. is the current property owner notified that someone is doing a search ? Is a register kept of people who have done a search on a particular title ?

I would like to know for curiosity sake but don't want her to know that I know.

You'll be safe, she won't find out.

These details are actually public information. It's just that you have to pay for that information, actually just about any RE Agents has access to this information. this is what they use when listing properties on the market.

So for interest sake as well as anonymity you can do it without your X-wife finding out.
