Settled yesterday as my new PPOR

This is a big shift in lifestyle going from pulling up in my driveway to pulling up in an underground security car park and walking to lift and then to apartment. I'm actually not looking fwd to it. I'm a bit scared in that I won?t have the freedom anymore. Do you all get use to it after a few weeks?
Before we moved to the USA, we were living in a 4 x 3 house on 1/3 acre.

When we got to the US, we were in a 2x1 apartment in a complex of hundreds, security gate and underground parking, lift etc.

And later had to scale down to a 1 bedder in a complex of hundreds.

It was my wife and I and one son.

You get used to it.

You'll love it - there are a lot of benefits to living in a unit/apartment.

Also, never underestimate the emotional satisfaction and well-being that comes from owning and living in your own home. I underestimated it for ages and felt great as soon as I moved into my own flat. Well, a few months later, anyway.

Just make sure you keep your payments up and breathe a sigh of relief. Some of your silly conservative ideas about suburbs etc. p me off but I'm with you on this move. Enjoy yourself.
