Settlement date falls on a weekend - what to do?

Luckily I double checked everything in the contract!

Are there default rules? Whereby it goes to the previous or next business day?

Or should I call the agent to have it amended?

(this is in QLD if that matters at all)

I think they usually default to the next business day - but whatever works for all parties. Not normally a big drama.

Ok cool, as long as it's not earlier it actually works better for me as I need as much time as I can get!

Assume the settlement will occur on Friday, but be okay with it if it happens on Monday.

In Qld it will always go to the next business day so in this case the Monday.

Our last settlement fell on the recent Easter Monday so the solicitor asked if it could be pushed to the next business day, so it was no biggie.

specifically dealt with in the contract. Next business day, no communication needed between solicitors etc. Same applies for finance, building and pest or any other day
