Stopnoise

Morning All,

Has anyone used stopnoise? They refit retro windows to block out the noise and insulate. We have been quoted 1400 for one window.

Do you think the retro fit windows are a better choice compared with double glazing?

Our bedroom sits on the southwest side, apparently this is the coldest part of the house.

Any insulation ideas for the cold and train noise would be great.

Smiffy

When I did my research I found that secondary windows are the best for insulating against noise, while double glazing is best for insulating against heat/cold.

I believe the optimal distance between glass to insulate against noise is 100mm

Having Lived in Europe I just don't understand why we don't use double glazing more. It cuts out the heat and cold while stopping noise. Shop around but it sounds about right for a large window say 1.2m by 2m.
