Swiss Shocker

SNB caves on the CHF 1.20 Peg yesterday, carnage everywhere. This was something really unexpected, I was also short the CHF but on balance am ahead since have assets in Switzerland from working there.

Stop losses didn?t work, brokers froze trading, clients in negative equity to the tune of hundreds of millions, some brokers out of business. Interestingly a broker I use still had some odd CHF pairs being quoted after the announcement and I was able to exit at a price they honoured, pays going with a big broker.

Next week ECB starts printing, and Greece leaves the Euro (probably).
Interesting times (I hate that phrase, but it is).

Yup, reminds me of an old Chinese curse, "may you live in interesting times".

Prefer boring normal times for doing property but there may be some opportunities coming up.

Are you a forex trader now?
Greece won't leave the euro, they only have elections

I noticed your location is Barcelona, do you live there permanently?
I was there in summer, beautiful part of the world...

Not a trader, just dabble. Yes I?m in Barca now. I reckon Greece is going to leave soon, it?s going to be sudden like the SNB announcement. Banks runs have already started in anticipation. They should just hurry up and freeze the banks this weekend and do it now.
