Sydney Meeting - Wednesday 29/01/14

The way work is looking at the moment, I will probably be there closer to 7pm as well... Don't have too much fun without me, folks!

I plan to come by, first time for me but also a NY resolution to be a bit more active around investing and attending meetups. Looking forward to it and thanks to Television for organising!

Grrr, usually in the Hills, and by a stroke of luck I will be at Blacktown until about 6pm.

I think I'll just do the drive home to Newy and give it a miss.

Next time you're in the hills or blacktown, give me a ring.

I'm usually working in either or.

As for tonight, i think i'll be missing it.

Hey TV, thanks for organising tonight! I especially liked the central location. Have been doing a lot of lurking around here so it was great to have the chance to get to know some more forumites! :)

Hey Television, next time you want to organise something, give me a yell and I'll publish it on my Meetup group if you like. Same applies to anyone else - happy to publicise social meetups for you.

We do get quite a few non-forumites along when I use Meetup.com, but it's always good to encourage new people to come join the forum.

What was the venue like? Good enough for chatting? How many people did you get? How many do you think the venue can handle? Finding good venues is the toughest part of organising meetups.

Thanks again for organising meet up tnite...I really enjoyed listening to others and getting ideas for how to move ahead, as well as just general property investment chats.

Was a pleasure meeting all the guys and girls who came out, which was more than expected.
Good to hear others stories and make some contacts.
Definitely keen on attending more meetings in future.

Sim,

Will make sure I do so next time, the more the merrier!

The venue was, in my opinion, a good spot for a meetup such as this. The music was maybe a _touch_ loud, but I didn't find it particularly worrisome. If anything, it was the people around me happily chatting who were making it hard to hear! I'd say we had about... 10-15? Didn't do a head count.

Food seemed nice (didn't try any myself).

Capacity would be 30-40 as long as people are happy to split up in to a few different tables etc.

I'll organise another one in say 2 months and also bring a few more items to make the event run a bit more smoothly.

Good on you for organising! I'm sorry I bailed and didn't make it (ended up getting sick and was in no mood to socialise or respond to emails).

What kind of 'items' will you be bringing next time?! May I suggest topless waitresses? ;)

I was thinking of name badges/stickers, so people could put their alias/real name on there and make conversation a bit easier.

Topless waitresses? It's been a few too many months away from the gym for me, so I've probably got a nice pair of B cups by now, but unfortunately people seem less interested in Moobs?
