Tax Depreciation Schedule Toowoomba

Hello all,

Was wondering if anyone can advise me of a good tax depreciation specialist in Toowoomba. I just got a quote from Herron Todd White for $1270 (inclusive of GST) for a tax depreciation schedule for a duplex.

Is this price normal?

If so, should I just get the prices my builder paid for the tax depreciative items and give them to my accountant?

Your advice is much appreciated.

I would NEVER recommend the alternative method - A builders schedule. When clients bring one I always recommend they get a proper depn schedule. Big difference!! And well worth the extra expense.

Most deperciation schedule providers have an extensive network of collegaues and I havent found a location yet they cant attend - Some areas require patience though !! Had a client in a FNQ location and they had to wait for the qty surveyor to do a short road trip to keep costs down. $1270 sounds VERY high.
 
Sometimes the information provided by a builder is useful, in particular the total project cost (including fees).

Apart from the fact that builders are usually reluctant to tell people what they pay for stuff, the reality is the client ends up paying 'installed retail values' for the Assets in a property.
 
Ever seen a builders schedule that realistically includes common property ? They may be OK for a house I will admit for the reason given by "depreciator" but for sites with common areas they can be wowefully inadequate resulting in major reduction in Div 43.
