Here’s a tech tip I picked up last week that I found very useful so I’d like to share.
With so many infrared remotes scattered around the house these days, I have found a way to determine whether infrared remotes are still working or the batteries are actually flat.
As we know, when you press a button on the remote, we can not see anything coming from the infrared device, so how can you find out whether the batteries are flat or the remote has given up the ghost?
Well, if you were to point the infrared device towards a digital camera, or a mobile phone camera, then the camera will pick up the infrared signal as light when a button is pressed on the remote.
