The sub-divison process in Preston Vic?

Can someone please run me through the process of getting a sub division approval in Preston Vic. Its an existing house with a big backyard with a lane behind it. There is no intention of doing the sub division just adding value for a sale later this year. Thanks.

For subdivision info get on to Darebin Council website or State Gov DSE website.
Your block will be covered by a general planning overlay and then there may be a specific area the covers your block. Then you know what is possible.

After you know that you can have a look at the specific council policies. It is worth noting that often councils will not look at just a subdivision without seeing at minimum a building envelope or maybe even a house design, it depends on the size of the land.
