The worst photo's I've seen - are they for real??

Love the way some REA's show us other peoples TV's and Hi-Fi systems....I always want to ask... " does the TV and stereo come with it...? " lol:p

Taken by a novice i feel, but also approved by the so called expert....?

Gotta give 'em credit on the paving/tiling photo with the white diamond in it...ripper...! lol

And I do hate the photos of other peoples beds.....like where the focus/interest is purely on the bed and not the room that contains the bed....

There is alot to be said for great photography in marketing...;)

Nah I have seen worse.....

Can't believe the REA didn't ask Owner to move the teatowel off the oven handle and dish drainer on the sink out of the way.

Also why wasn't the portable clothesline with the undies pegged out moved.

Was that clean washing on the pool table [hope so]?

But what I want to know is what is tied over each of the bedposts at the head of the bed in main bedroom? :D

The shot of the bathroom sink is plain, one wouldn't know whether there was a bath or shower in there and the add says 2 bathrooms.

The messy walk in cupboard is woeful...almost as good as the brick wall.

Cheers

have seen worse but yeh they are pretty bad. those bushes are awesome!

do we think rental or clueless vendors?

i just looked the property up on rpdata and it appears to be owner occupied. You'd think the agent would do them the courtesy of leaving out the washing photos!

You know your plants Steveadl!
I missed the garters.
You all missed the police hat and uniforms in WIR.
I've met the vendors before (definately OO) and seen the house a few times. It's 1000 times nicer than the pic's!

Really, with all this digital camera technology these days, half decent pics are not that hard to take. All it takes is a little bit of patience and even less skill.

Thanks for the laugh this morning :D

Actually I think the picture of the great driveway paving may just be my favourite.

I would be horrified if my PPOR was photographed like that with the washing etc on show. Gee, the last PPOR I sold, I spent ages fluffing and plumping and making sure every last blade of grass was just right.

The wife of a work colleague takes real estate photos for a living (a proffessional photographer). Apparently has more work than she can handle. She reckons the REAs say it brings in more inquiries for the property if the photos are of a proffessional standard. I suppose if you are trawling through quite alot of listings, one with great photos would make you want to do a viewing over a listing with crappy photos. I'm sure its only a couple of hundred $ for the photos.

I'm selling my PPOR at the end of the year and am going to get her to do some photos.

If that was a house local to here, I would be boggling at how FANTASTIC those photos are.

There's a good example of what our local agent does - a dozen photos of the shed, and one or two of the house (well, there's 4 there but two are of the same room from virtually the same angle). You get no feel at all for the house itself from his photography work.

Hmmmm, nice dirt bike.......... and nice coffee mug tree on the kitchen bench!

But what I really want to know is..... What the hell is a HOMETTE ?
Is that some sort of local lingo or is it a SA thing?:D

I am in the game myself and have taken RE photos to assist a local agent on two occasions, but the rest of 'em have absolute rubbish photos and are all confident in their photographic ability... so it seems... as when I put a presentation to them offering to take their photos professionally for a small fee, the answer was to the effect...."well, why pay you when we can take our own photos....?"
....can't argue with that I spose....but I do know vendors who are not happy and i do know it annoys me and others when searching online...

I also have a friend in Melb who does this full time and the going rate seems to be around $80 per property which includes up to around a dozen pics depending on the property. The agents paying for this are over the moon and can get on with the rest of their job, realising it's best left to the specialist.

But sadly here in our little town, the agents don't seem to think efficiency and presentation is a problem when selling real estate. All bar one maybe, who does take a decent pic and is starting to stand out from the otherwise ordinary others in their presentations.

I even had one agent tell me many times relating to a few properties that the vendor(s) is asking too much and the property(s) is only worth $xxxx ......I vowed to never use this agent to sell anything for me...ever ever ever.

SA real estate agent jargon for "really small house" :D

In this town it usually means "small house built on a cut-off corner block so there's no backyard, only suitable for retirees and people who don't want to live on a 900sqm block like everyone else does in the country but its not strata so we can't call it a unit" but that particular house is just a really small transportable house on a big block.

In the city you'd probably call this particular house a "development opportunity". Tiny house, big block. But here you can't do hammerheads, so you either need a 30m frontage for two houses or 20m for a duplex. You'd never actually develop this house of course because there is plenty of vacant land for sale for ~$50k with those kind of frontages.

The thing is though, silly people are happy with silly standards, so silly people meet those standards.

I've found that some vendors/real estate agents really don't have any idea either way.
Some think horrible, blurry, crooked photos are sufficient, and at the other end of the scale some expect miracles from photographs to improve the look of their properties...
(No, I will not digitally remove the telegraph pole from the view from your balcony! No, I will not digitally whiten the grout in your bathroom!)

I just had this hit my in box .... is there SOMEONE IN THE BED? :D:D:D

Absolute classic ;)

Yeah I think it looks like someone in the bed.
