Toowoomba???

For non-profit reasons I'm looking at buying in Toowoomba. It looks stable and safe to me, with the gas fields in the region.

I wont be charging/receiving rent and tax considerations are irrelevant: No need to go down that path. [Lazy dollars]

Are there risks outside the macro that I should consider? I see none but there is no harm in asking. :)

gets cold in the winter compared to FNQ :)

We call it the "fridge on the ridge"

Its also known as quite a wealthy place with some very nice farms and grazing country

Great place to invest - and I have visited there to take a look for myself.

My pick is to buy an acerage 15 mins away for future subdivision potential.

Hey Sunfish,
Economically no real risks, Toowoomba is secure in that respect. Interestingly I work for the Electricity supply mob up here and we have 3 major centres: Townsville, Rockhampton, and Toowoomba. I personally also love the lifestyle available here.

Safe as, you know...

Yeah Toowoomba is a safe bet. Growing population. High rental demand. And also a nice place to live apart form the cold.

Has anyone bought acreage to sub-divide around Toowoomba?
