Useful free websites (long)

Hi,

I have put together a small list of sites that my be of interest. So have been posted before and some have not. I tried searching to see if there was a list elsewhere but i could not find one (I am sure someone will point it out if i have missed it)

I was looking at my local Council website when i found this, http://www.qcc.nsw.gov.au/page.aspx?page=2828 Seemed interesting. Basically the council has used a company 'ID' (informed decisions) to put up lots info from the 2006 Census about the LGA, using mesh-block based maps.

Looking into the site the council linked to i found this, http://www.id.com.au/home/default.asp?pg=5 - A local government snaphot. Summary info for any LGA.

I tried searching the site to see if i could find other councils information. The site does not allow this. But they do have a list of clients they have done work for, http://www.id.com.au/home/default.asp?pg=4 What i found is that if you just change the council name in the url you can get to other council info - and in a nice map format too. Eg, start with http://www.id.com.au/atlas/queanbeyan , change to http://www.id.com.au/atlas/wyndham and there you go.

An interesting set of maps that can be viewed is the rental stress and housing stress maps. If the data is correct, its scary.
