Warning labels

Ever notice that some supermarket brands come with some obvious warning labels?

The words "contains milk" are on milk cartons, butter, yoghurt and ice cream!

I've seen "contains nuts" on a packet of peanuts.

Contains wheat - on bread!

Is it not obvious that a carton of milk contains milk and a packet of peanuts contains nuts? What else could they be?

Could be some legal requirement if someone tries to sue them. " Your honour these packets of peanuts clearly state that the contain nuts"

great sign Wombat.

This also happens to people borrowing money - some are aparrently not aware that you have to give it back at some stage.

The RTA feel it necessary to remind us that gravity continues to exist.

Unfortunately we live in a litigious world.

Everyone has to cover themselves.
Some of the cases I've read about in America are crazy.
Like the guy who bought a motorhome and set it to cruise control and climbed in the back to make a cup of tea. Sued successfully as the manual didn't state not to do that.
And the guys who got drunk and decided to trim the hedge with a lawnmower. One lost a hand. Success as the instructions didn't say it couldn't be used to trim a hedge.
I'm sure there are millions like this.
Unfortunately no-one is responsible for their own actions anymore.

Sad!

My girlfriend has some kind of hair device (straightener/blowdryer or something of that description) that warns:

"Do not use while sleeping".

I cant really fathom the lawsuit that caused the company to put that one on the label.
